How to register a Foreign Investment Company in Indonesia (PMA)
PMA (Foreign Investment) is an establishment of a business in the Republic of Indonesia aimed for foreign investors. This can be done using full foreign capital or partially with a domestic investor.
Once you have your own PMA you can apply for a foreign investment kitas under your own company.
As the main director of your company you can legally work with a kitas.
I. Establishment of The Company
- Apply for Company names 3 words
- Approval from Board Investment Jakarta (BKPM)
- Endorsement from Minister of Justice Jakarta (AHU)
- Deed of Company Establishment by a Notary
- Approval from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (MoLHR) of company sponsor / SK Kemenkuham
Pendirian Perusahaan - NPWP Badan Usaha (Tax File Number of Company)
- OSS ( NIB- Business Registration Number, Business Licenses, Location Licenses)
Processing time to this stage 30 business days.

II. Operational Permit
- Certificate of Company Registration (TDP)
- Permanent Permit (IUT) – from Board Investment
- Environmental Permit (SPPL/Ukl-Upl)
- Price Excluded Building Permit (IMB) or Retribution/Donation to Banjar and/or Village
III. Company Profile
- Function of the company
- Composition of the Shares: 100% Foreigner
- Domicile

- For Establishment of the Company, all payments in (I) must be made entirely
- After the approval from the Minister of Justice is published, then all the payments in (II) must be made.
